Tumbes
The Lord of Locumba Festival is celebrated every November 14th and mobilizes the entire Tumbes region around one of Peru's most emblematic devotions. Originating in the south of the country, this national devotion finds special resonance among the faithful of Tumbes, who join the religious celebrations held in different parts of the department with fervor.
Although the cult's main center is outside the region, in Tumbes the date is lived with masses, processions and acts of faith that reflect the deep popular religiosity of the northern border and its capacity to welcome devotions from other regions of Peru.
It is celebrated in different points of the Tumbes region, mobilizing the local faithful.
